The Monumental Sculpture Program is governed by the Port Warwick Foundation, which produces the Annual Port Warwick Art & Sculpture Festival. The Port Warwick Art & Sculpture Festival is a gathering of many of the best, most diverse and creative artists from across the country. We consistantly seek qualified artists who continue to challenge themselves to achieve a higher artistic level both in subject matter and technique.

The Monumental Sculpture Program supports the installation of 6-8 new temporary works of sculpture each year. All chosen pieces are introduced during and as a part of the Port Warwick Art & Sculpture Festival. These Sculptures remain in Port Warwick for up to one year.

Each year the Port Warwick Foundation strives to select a variety sculptures that have an original of design and look, have unique subject matter, and speak of the artist's quality of technique. We seek sculpture that is fresh, works that Hampton Roads area has never seen exhibited in its area. Please view pictures on this page of sculptures both currently and previously exhibited as part of the Monumental Sculpture Program.

Process for consideration:

  1. Apply to be included in the Monumental Sculpture Program.
  2. Once the committee has received your application, you will be contacted about your status.

Monumental Sculpture Program Application DUE August 14, 2010.

PLEASE NOTE: An artist may apply for the Monumental Sculpture Program AND the Port Warwick Art & Sculpture Festival but is not required to apply to both in order to participate in the Monumental Sculpture Program. Although we encourage artists to apply to each, as it provides additional opportunities for the artists, we understand that it is not feasible for all artists to do so and therefore is not expected.
